Wir haben heute ein Thema mitgebracht, das ja, für reichlich Gesprächsstoff sorgt, überall auf der Welt, nicht nur in Deutschland, aber wir wollen natürlich die deutsche Brille aufsetzen hier. Es geht um das Thema Schönheitsideale. Today we’ve brought along a topic that, well, provides plenty of material for discussion, all over the world, not just in Germany, but we naturally want to put on the German glasses here. It’s about the topic of beauty ideals.
Das bedeutet konkret, Amelie, warum, warum hast du uns dieses Thema mitgebracht? Specifically, Amelie, why, why did you bring this topic to us?
Ja, wie bin ich eigentlich drauf gekommen? Ich glaube, es ist mir irgendwie gekommen durch Bayern wahrscheinlich und dass ich da so ein bisschen, ne, mehr in München irgendwie, ja, mehr Leute gesehen habe, die dann irgendwie vielleicht anders aussehen als hier in Norddeutschland und dann habe ich ein bisschen drüber nachgedacht und ja, mich damit mal ein bisschen befasst mit Schönheitsidealen in Deutschland in allen möglichen Richtungen. Well, how did I actually come up with it? I think it somehow came to me through Bavaria probably, and that I, you know, saw more people in Munich who somehow perhaps look different than here in Northern Germany, and then I thought about it a bit and yes, I’ve dealt with it a little, with beauty ideals in Germany in all possible directions.
Aber da bin ich gespannt, was du uns dann nachher dazu erzählst, weil ich könnte jetzt auf auf die Schnelle gar nicht sagen, wie die Leute in Bayern in der Hinsicht ticken und ja, könnte jetzt auf die Schnelle keine regionalen Unterschiede ausmachen in der Hinsicht, aber wir werden dazu kommen auf jeden Fall. Mhm. But I’m curious what you’ll tell us about that later, because I couldn’t quickly say how people in Bavaria tick in that regard and yes, I couldn’t quickly make out any regional differences in that regard, but we’ll definitely get to that. Mhm.

Es gibt auch eine Wortschatzliste zum wirklich relevanten Wortschatz jeder Episode, der Wortschatz, den ihr wirklich im Alltag braucht, also keine Wörter, die überflüssig sind, die man sowieso nicht nutzt. There is also a vocabulary list for the truly relevant vocabulary of each episode, the vocabulary that you really need in everyday life, so no words that are superfluous and that you don’t use anyway.

Für mich war es interessant, Sitten und Bräuche kennenzulernen, dabei höre ich aufmerksam die Aussagen, Melodie und den Rhythmus, die Betonung und so weiter. For me it was interesting to learn about customs and traditions, and I listen attentively to the statements, melody and rhythm, the intonation and so on.

Was hast du mitgebracht? What did you bring?
Bei mir ist es Eustress. Mine is eustress.
Eustress? Eustress?
Ja. Okay. Ich glaube, ich ich habe es jetzt auch schon öfter gehört als Freizeitstress, quasi. Yes. Okay. I think I’ve also heard it more often now as leisure stress, so to speak.
Aber Eustress ist eigentlich eine Form des positiven Stress, sozusagen. Bei mir ist es jetzt gerade ein bisschen akut, weil ich jetzt eine Woche genau hier in Deutschland wieder bin und ich versuche in dieser einen Woche alles unter einen Hut zu bringen, alle Freunde und Familie zu sehen, irgendwie in dieser einen Woche plus Arbeits- und Arzttermine da irgendwie noch mit einzubringen und das ist verdammt viel und Schlaf wird weniger dadurch in dieser Woche und auch so die Planung im Voraus und so weiter war echt ein bisschen chaotisch und auch jetzt noch so mitten drin, wenn dann irgendwie irgendwer irgendwas verschieben will, können wir nicht doch uns hier treffen oder da oder dann und weiß ich nicht und dann versucht man das trotzdem alles irgendwie hinzukriegen und es ist eigentlich ja positiver Stress, weil es ja um Treffen geht, soziale Interaktion und sowas, aber es ist einfach Stress. Ist einfach leider so. But eustress is actually a form of positive stress, so to speak. It’s a bit acute for me right now because I’m back here in Germany for exactly one week now and I’m trying to fit everything into this one week, seeing all friends and family, somehow bringing in work and doctor’s appointments there somehow as well, and that’s a hell of a lot and sleep is reduced as a result this week and also the planning in advance and so on was really a bit chaotic and even now, right in the middle of it, when somehow someone wants to postpone something, can’t we meet here or there or then and I don’t know and then you try to make it all work somehow anyway and it’s actually positive stress because it’s about meetings, social interaction and such things, but it’s just stress. It’s just like that, unfortunately.
Und warum eu-? Das habe ich noch nicht verstanden. And why eu-? I haven’t understood that yet.
Das ist einfach so, das heißt so, wirklich, das ist ein Fachbegriff, ja. Kannst du googeln. It’s just like that, that’s what it’s called, really, it’s a technical term, yes. You can Google it.
Alles klar. Also, ja, auch ich lerne Deutsch hier. Super. Sehr schön. Ja, kann ich komplett nachvollziehen, diesen diese Art von Stress. Bei mir ist es Bohrmaschine. Ganz simpel. Alright. So, yes, I’m learning German here too. Great. Very nice. Yes, I can completely understand this this type of stress. Mine is drill. Very simple.

Ja, weil ich tatsächlich gerade neben meinem Arbeits Büro, neben meinem neben meinem Fenster von aus dem Raum, aus dem ich arbeite, ein ja, eine Baustelle ist einfach und die ist so krass nervig und es ist einfach laut den ganzen Tag und diese Bohrmaschine hat keinen Ausschalter offenbar und offenbar muss man ganz viel bohren. Yes, because I actually have a construction site right next to my office, next to my next to my window from the room I work in, and it’s just so incredibly annoying and it’s just loud all day long and this drill apparently doesn’t have an off switch and apparently you have to drill a lot.
Im November bei 2 Grad und Regen. Ich weiß nicht, ja, es geht wahrscheinlich nicht anders, aber es ist es ist nervig. Deswegen begleitet mich diese Bohrmaschine die ganze Woche und deswegen ist es mein Wort der Woche. In November at 2 degrees and rain. I don’t know, yes, it probably can’t be helped, but it’s it’s annoying. That’s why this drill accompanies me all week and that’s why it is my word of the week.
