Wir sind zurück und nicht nur hier bei Deutsch Geplapper sind wir zurück, sondern auch zurück von unseren Reisen. We are back and not only are we back here at Deutsches Geplapper, but also back from our travels.
Wir waren weg im Winter, im Februar/März jeweils. Du warst wie lange wo? We were away in winter, in February/March respectively. How long were you where?
Ich war in Andalusien, drei Wochen waren es ungefähr. I was in Andalusia, it was about three weeks.
Wunderschön. Und ich war fünf Wochen in Sri Lanka und ja, wir haben versucht so ein bisschen diesem deutschen grausamen Winter zu entgehen. Beautiful. And I was in Sri Lanka for five weeks and yes, we tried to escape this cruel German winter a bit.
Wenn ihr in Deutschland lebt, dann wisst ihr sehr gut, wovon wir sprechen. If you live in Germany, then you know very well what we are talking about.
Und ja, es ist uns gelungen, so viel kann man schon verraten. And yes, we succeeded, that much can already be revealed.
Und wir wollen heute gar nicht so primär über unsere Reisen reden, sondern wir wollen eigentlich viel mehr darüber reden, was wir an Deutschland vermisst haben. And today we don’t want to talk so primarily about our travels, but we actually want to talk much more about what we missed about Germany.

Die haben wir auf jeden Fall vermisst. Und ein paar andere Sachen sind noch dazugekommen. We definitely missed her. And a few other things have been added.
Wir haben vor einer längeren Zeit schon mal eine Folge gemacht darüber, dass wir gerne Deutschland verlassen würden, dass wir gerne auswandern würden oder zumindest uns mit dem Gedanken herumtragen. A long time ago, we already did an episode about the fact that we would like to leave Germany, that we would like to emigrate or at least are toying with the idea.
Ja, aber es gibt trotzdem noch ein paar gute Sachen an Deutschland, oder? Yes, but there are still a few good things about Germany, right?
Ja, schon. Auch wenn dir nicht viele einfallen. Mir sind wirklich nicht so viele eingefallen, aber… Yes, indeed. Even if you can’t think of many. I really couldn’t think of that many, but…
Gut, ein paar habe ich aber aufgeschrieben auf jeden Fall. Wir schauen mal, wie das heute wird. Vielleicht wird es eine Fünf-Minuten-Folge. Well, I’ve written down a few in any case. We’ll see how it goes today. Maybe it will be a five-minute episode.

Ja, also Tiffy auf jeden Fall natürlich, ne? Yes, well Tiffy definitely of course, right?
So, das also ich muss schon jetzt erstmal gleich vorab sagen, die Sachen, die mir so eingefallen sind, sind eher so diese persönlichen Sachen und die vielleicht nicht so ganz allgemein für Deutschland gelten, ne? So, I have to say right now upfront, the things that occurred to me are more like these personal things and those that might not apply so generally to Germany, right?
Wie zum Beispiel eben Tiffy, weil Tiffy ist halt in Deutschland. Like Tiffy, for example, because Tiffy is in Germany.
Gut, gut, ja, das leuchtet ein. Good, good, yes, that makes sense.
Das wäre schon mal eine Sache auf jeden Fall. Eine andere, okay, eine allgemeine Sache, das weil das kann einfach irgendwie kein Land auf dieser Welt kann das so wie Deutschland, das ist halt gutes Brot. That would be one thing in any case. Another, okay, a general thing, because simply no country in this world can do it like Germany, that’s just good bread.
Das ist also da müssen wir vielleicht noch mal eine extra Folge drüber machen über das deutsche Brot, weil das ist eine Kunst offensichtlich, so ein Brot hinzukriegen, diese Vielfalt und alles, aber… So we might have to do an extra episode about German bread, because it’s obviously an art to manage such a bread, this variety and everything, but…
Es muss eine Kunst sein, weil es ja niemand hinkriegt, ne? It must be an art, because nobody else manages it, right?
Ja, irgendwie schon. Und ich, ne, keine Frage, ich liebe auch Ciabatta oder Baguettes oder weiß ich nicht was und Fladenbrote so, ist alles geil, ne? Yes, somehow it is. And I, no question, I also love ciabatta or baguettes or I don’t know what and flatbreads like that, it’s all great, right?
Aber so richtig kann das einfach nicht mithalten mit dem deutschen Brot. But it just can’t really keep up with German bread.
Nee. Wir haben ja vor ich glaube vor einer Zeit haben wir schon mal über deutsches Brot hier gesprochen, ne? No. We already spoke about German bread here, I think a while ago, right?
Irgendwie erinnere ich mich dunkel an so ein paar YouTube-Kommentare zu dem Thema. Somehow I have a dim memory of a few YouTube comments on the subject.
Kurz erwähnt, ja. Mentioned briefly, yes.
Ja ja, aber trotzdem ist es eine Sache, ja, das ist mir auch aufgefallen. Yes, yes, but still it’s a thing, yes, I noticed that too.
Deutsches Brot und ja, irgendwas, was nicht Weißmehl ist, ist schon echt schwierig zu finden in vielen, vielen Ländern.German bread and well, anything that isn’t white flour is really difficult to find in many, many countries.
Ja, ja, schon, ne? Also das ja, muss man schon sagen auf jeden Fall. Yes, yes, indeed, right? So yes, you definitely have to say that.
Also das war etwas, was mir persönlich auch ja auf jeden Fall irgendwie gefehlt hat. So that was something that I personally definitely missed somehow.
Wobei halt ich kann auch nicht sagen, dass es mir richtig gefehlt hat, weil es waren ja jetzt im Endeffekt bei mir nur drei Wochen. So. Although I can’t say that I really missed it, because in the end it was only three weeks for me. Like that.
Und es war jetzt nicht die Riesenweltreise, es war jetzt nicht so ein Riesenkulturunterschied, den ich da erlebt habe und dementsprechend ist es für mich dann auch mehr einfach ein Genuss gewesen, ne, was ganz anderes zu sehen und zu erleben und so. And it wasn’t a huge world trip, it wasn’t such a huge cultural difference that I experienced there and accordingly it was more of a pleasure for me, you know, to see and experience something completely different and so on.
In diesen drei Wochen vermisst man jetzt nicht so viel. Also ich jedenfalls nicht. So, ne, das muss man natürlich auch sagen. In these three weeks, you don’t miss that much. At least I don’t. So, you know, you have to say that of course.
