Dein Deutsch klingt sehr, sehr umgangssprachlich. Your German sounds very, very colloquial.
Und eigentlich ist das gar kein Problem, denn Umgangssprache ist ja nichts schlechtes. And actually, that’s no problem at all, because colloquial language isn’t a bad thing.
Im Gegenteil, wir nutzen täglich sehr viel davon. On the contrary, we use a lot of it every day.
Aber was, wenn du in einem formellen Kontext bist? But what if you’re in a formal context?
Eine Prüfungssituation, ein Bewerbungsgespräch, ein Termin mit Kunden? An exam situation, a job interview, an appointment with clients?
Dann kann zu viel Umgangssprache unpassend sein und es kann passieren, dass du dadurch unprofessionell wirkst oder einen schlechten Eindruck hinterlässt. Then too much colloquial language can be inappropriate and it can happen that you come across as unprofessional or make a bad impression.
Also, was kannst du tun, um beide Sprachebenen zu beherrschen? So, what can you do to master both language levels?

Ja, Tag gesagt, hier bei Deutsches Geplapper. Yes, ‚Tag gesagt,‘ here at Deutsches Geplapper.
Ich fange mal mit einer sehr umgangssprachlichen Wendung an. I’ll start with a very colloquial phrase.
Tag gesagt, das ist etwas, was man in einem lockeren Kontext sagen kann, wenn man zu seinen Freunden geht, an den Stammtisch, um ein Bier zu trinken oder so. ‚Tag gesagt‘ is something you can say in a casual context, when you go to your friends, to the regulars‘ table to drink a beer or something.
Aber das solltest du nicht sagen, wenn du in ein Bewerbungsgespräch gehst. But you shouldn’t say that when you go to a job interview.
Da sagst du nicht „Tag gesagt, wie geht’s?“, sondern du würdest eine andere Begrüßung wählen wahrscheinlich und ja, da kommen wir schon zur Sache. You don’t say „Tag gesagt, how’s it going?“ there, but you would probably choose a different greeting and well, that brings us to the point.
Heute geht es um das Thema Umgangssprache und was macht man eigentlich, wenn man zu viel Umgangssprache spricht? Today’s topic is colloquial language and what do you actually do when you speak too much colloquial language?
Ich habe dazu eine sehr schöne Sprachnachricht erhalten von Adnane aus Algerien, die werde ich gleich mal vorspielen. I received a very nice voice message about this from Adnane from Algeria, which I’ll play in a moment.
Vorher allerdings noch ein kleiner Hinweis in eigener Sache und zwar, ich schaue mir sehr viele Statistiken an, Statistiken über die Performance dieses Podcasts. Und das passiert ganz automatisch, weil ich die Sprache seit so lange lerne. And that happens completely automatically because I’ve been learning the language for so long.
Und meine Frage ist ganz einfach. And my question is very simple.
Also was, was soll ich tun oder was kann ich tun, um dieses Problem zu lösen? So what, what should I do or what can I do to solve this problem?
Und in einer offiziellen Prüfung keine umgangssprachlichen Ausdrücke zu verwenden.“ And not to use colloquial expressions in an official exam.“

Was, wenn ich zu viel Umgangssprache spreche und in den falschen Kontexten einfach nur Umgangssprache rauskommt, obwohl ich vielleicht Standardsprache oder sehr gehobene Sprache verwenden sollte? What if I speak too much colloquial language and only colloquial language comes out in the wrong contexts, even though I should perhaps use standard language or very elevated language?
